Powder-Coated Yellow Pedestrian Crowd Control Barrier 2.3m – High-Visibility Steel
This Pedestrian Crowd Control Barrier is designed for quick deployment wherever you need a stable, continuous pedestrian perimeter. It is particularly well suited to construction sites, roadworks and civil engineering projects where yellow is used to highlight electrical works, health and safety hazard zones and areas requiring heightened awareness from operatives and the public.
Why yellow on site
Yellow is one of the most recognised hazard colours in UK construction and civil engineering. It is routinely used to mark electrical infrastructure, temporary danger areas and zones where a specific type of work or risk is present. On sites running a colour-coded perimeter system, powder-coated yellow barriers give operatives and visitors a clear visual signal about what a zone contains without needing additional signage. Yellow is also commonly used in warehouses, industrial facilities and at outdoor events where hazard awareness is needed.
The powder coat finish
The powder coat is applied in-house at Securasite's West Midlands manufacturing facility using an electrostatic process. This bonds the finish directly to the galvanised steel substrate, producing a harder surface than standard liquid paint. Yellow paint is particularly prone to fading under UV exposure, which reduces the visual impact of the barrier over time. The powder coat holds its colour longer under repeated outdoor use and is more resistant to chipping, which matters when yellow is being used as a functional safety indicator rather than just a colour preference.
The foot and frame
The foot is welded to the frame as a single piece of steel. There is nothing to attach on site, nothing to lose and no joint that degrades with age. The rigid angled foot resists sideways tipping better than a flat foot design and does not require additional ballast under normal site conditions. The 5mm wire insert keeps the overall weight down to 9kg without compromising the rigidity of the frame.
Connectors & deployment
Wrap-around connectors link barriers together in one motion without tools, giving a tighter and more consistent line than a hook-and-eye system. This is useful on large sites where the perimeter goes up quickly and changes as work progresses. Barriers are manufactured at Securasite's facility using a combination of autonomous robot welding and qualified welders, which gives consistent weld quality across every unit.
Ordering & availability
This is a cost-effective, no-frills powder-coated yellow barrier. For heavier crowd pressure, the HD fixed leg barrier (PB-23-HD-001-YEL) with 12mm inserts is the better choice. The full range is available powder coated to any RAL colour with name plate branding on request. Hire is available alongside purchase. Stock is held at depots across the Midlands, North, East and South for direct UK-wide delivery.
